I. Core activities, tasks, and responsibilities
Information on the tasks and activities of bodies performing public duties in the case of bodies with national jurisdiction and government offices in the capital and counties.
The National Election Office was established upon the entry into force of Act XXXVI of 2013 on Electoral Procedure.
This independent, autonomous state administrative institution, which is subject only to the law, is responsible for performing central tasks related to the preparation and conduct of elections. Similar to other election offices, the NEO performs tasks related to providing non-partisan information to voters, candidates, and nominating organizations, assists the National Election Commission in its work, ensures that the material and technical conditions necessary for the conduct of elections are in place, and directs the work of regional and local election offices.
