The National Election Commission (NEC) is the highest ranking organ of the election commission system, carrying out its task at national level. Its elected members are elected by the Parliament.
Its main tasks include establishing the national results of elections, adjudicating appeals against the decisions of single-member constituency election commissions and regional election commissions, reviewing objections submitted in matters of national importance, certification of national referendum initiatives, and issuance guidelines for the uniform interpretation of the law. Its decisions may only be reviewed by the Supreme Court in the appropriate procedure.
