Budapest, 21 March 2024 - Voters can request several types of assistance to ensure the smooth exercise of their right to vote. Braille notices, easy-to-understand information, accessible polling stations, Braille ballot templates and mobile ballot boxes can help voters with disabilities or mobility problems.
Voters can request
- a Braille notification, the deadline for submission of which is Tuesday 2 April 2024 at 4 p.m.
- a Braille ballot template to the polling station and during ballot box voting. The deadline for submitting an application for a Braille ballot template is 4 p.m. on Friday 31 May 2024.
- the provision of accessible polling stations on election day. The deadline for submitting the application is Wednesday 5 June 2024 at 4 p.m.
Voters with mobility problems due to health conditions or disabilities can also apply for a mobile ballot box. Applications for a mobile ballot box can be submitted from 4 April 2024 (Thursday) until 12 noon on 9 June 2024, election day.
In addition, anyone can request to receive easy-to-understand information by 4 p.m. on 2 April 2024 (Tuesday).
A voter who cannot read, or who is physically disabled or otherwise hindered from voting, may be assisted by an assistant of his/her choice, or, failing this, by two members of the polling station commission.
All applications can be submitted online at valasztas.hu, in person or by proxy at local election offices.
