Receiving and submitting postal votes
The National Election Office will send the voting package to the address provided by the registered voter in their registration application.
In their registration application, voters may also request to receive their voting package in person, in which case they may collect it on working days between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the two weeks prior to the election, as well as on election day between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the following locations:
- at the headquarters of ParliamentarySingle-Member Constituencies,
- in designated municipalities along the Hungarian border or
- at designated Hungarian foreign representations abroad.
When collecting the voting package in person, voters must prove their identity with a valid Hungarian or other (Serbian, Ukrainian, etc.) photo ID. The voting package can only be collected in person.
The voting package contains
- the postal voting ballot paper (which is valid without a stamp),
- a form for the voter's identification,
- an envelope for the ballot paper (inner envelope),
- a return envelope addressed to the National Election Office, which can be posted free of charge
- information on how to vote.

- can be sent by post
- free of charge to the National Election Office - in this case, it must be received by the National Election Office by 7 p.m. on the day of the vote at the latest, or
- for a fee - the sealed return envelope can be addressed to any foreign representation; in which case it must arrive at the foreign representation by the end of voting at the foreign representation,
- it can be submitted in Hungary at any single-member constituency election office between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the day of the election,
- it can also be submitted at any foreign representation on working days between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the two weeks prior to the vote or during voting at the foreign representation.
