The National Election Committee, using the authorization granted in Section 34 (2)a)of Act C of 1997 on Electoral Procedure (hereinafter: Ve.), on the subject of the publicity of the electoral procedure, issues the following

resolution:

According to Section 6 (1) of the Ve., the operation and activities of election committees, as well as the data available to election committees, are public, with the exception established by law. The publicity of the electoral procedure must not violate the secrecy of voting and the rights related to the protection of the person and personal data.

Section 6 (1) of the Ve. must be applied in such a way that the constitutional right of citizens to the protection of their personal data is enforced during the operation of the election committees. Accordingly, during the publication of a decision, the personal data (name, address, etc.) of the person initiating the procedure can only be published if they have expressly consented to it. In the case of a public figure, consent must be considered given.
