The National Election Committee, exercising the authorization granted in Section 34 (2)a)of Act C of 1997 on Electoral Procedure (hereinafter: Ve.), issues the following

resolution regarding the starting date of the mandate of the appointed members of the election bodies:

According to Section 25 (1) of the Ve., one additional member of the election committees - in addition to those mentioned in Section 23 - is appointed by a nominating organization that has nominated a candidate or a list in the constituency, or by an independent candidate. According to Section 25 (1) a), one member of the National Election Committee is appointed by the nominating organization that has nominated a national list in the case referred to in Section 23 (6)a).

According to Section 28 (1) of the Ve., the members of the election committee take an oath before the competent mayor, the metropolitan mayor of the capital, the president of the county assembly, or the Speaker of the Parliament.

According to Section 55 (2) of the Ve., the competent election committee registers every nominating organization, candidate, or list that meets the legal requirements within 2 days of the notification.

The right to appoint a member of the election committee under Section 25 (1) of the Ve. becomes available to the nominating organization or the independent candidate at the same time as the registration of the candidate or the list under Section 55 (2) of the Ve. The appointed member of the election committee may participate in the decision-making of the election committee after taking the oath under Section 28 (1) of the Ve.
