3/2010. resolution number
3/2010. OVB resolution on closing the vote
The National Election Committee - at its meeting held on April 11, 2010 - acting within its competence as laid down in Section 90/A (4) a), Section 99/K (5) a), Section 105/A (4) a), Section 115/I (8) a), Section 124/A (3) a) and Section 143/A (4) of Act C of 1997 on Electoral Procedure (hereinafter: Ve.), issues the following
resolution:
According to Section 71 of the Ve.: "(1) The president of the vote counting committee shall close the polling station at 7 p.m. Voters who are in the polling station or its waiting area may still vote. After this, the vote counting committee shall close the vote. (2) After the close of the vote, no votes shall be accepted."
The National Election Committee's position is that the procedure in Section 71 (1) of the Ve. is met if the vote counting committee provides all voters who arrived for the purpose of voting by 7:00 p.m. and are still in line with the opportunity to vote. The vote counting committee must establish the technical conditions to ensure that voters arriving after the above deadline can no longer vote.
