The OSCE ODIHR director and delegation visit the National Election Office

On 27 November 2025, Ms. Maria Telalian, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), paid an official visit to Hungary in order to discuss the preparations for the 2026 parliamentary elections and the importance of international election observation, with Attila Nagy, Dr., President of the National Election Office (NEO).

The OSCE delegation composed of Ms. Maria Telalian, Director of ODIHR; Ms. Soultana Falierou, Senior Political Adviser and Head of the Director’s Office; and Ms. Julia Gebhard, Deputy Head of the Democratization Department. From the National Election Office, Attila Nagy, Dr., President; Gergely Sóskuti-Varga, dr., Vice President; and Krisztina Kovács, dr., Head of the International and Press Department, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed in particular the recommendations made by ODIHR following the 2022 general parliamentary elections.

The National Election Office is committed to ensuring that the 2026 parliamentary elections fully comply with international standards and that the transparency, integrity, and credibility of the electoral process are guaranteed. To this end, and in line with the practice of previous years, the NEO continues its cooperation with the OSCE ODIHR.
