Visit of the delegation of the Election Commission of India to the National Election Office of Hungary

The meeting between the two electoral management bodies took place in Budapest on November 24, 2025, aiming to foster stronger international collaboration and deeper engagement, and exchange knowledge on electoral best practices. The delegation was led by Dr. Arun. T, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer of Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu. The National Election Office of Hungary was represented by president Attila Nagy, Dr. and Krisztina Anita Kovács, dr., head of the International and Press Department.

The meeting served as a forum for election professionals to share their experiences and explore ways to strengthen and advance democratic electoral systems. The participants examined topics such as electoral legislation, procedural practices, public trust in institutions and issues stemming from the emergence of new technologies, particularly e-voting systems and the use of AI.

During the meeting, the representatives focused on crucial topics, such as the development of the voter registration system and updating the register. Another timely aspect of discussion centred around campaign activities during the election period, and the question of campaign financing.

The event served as a fruitful opportunity for the participants to present the work of the respective institutions, their good practices and to learn from global developments in electoral management.
