The 20th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies Successfully Concluded in Lithuania

The 20th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies took place in Vilnius on April 15-16, 2025, focusing on the theme "Stability of Electoral Law – Practical Aspects." The National Election Office (NEO) was also represented at the event by Dr. Gergely Sóskuti-Varga and Dr. Péter Minda, Vice-Presidents of the NEO.

The conference provided a platform for election professionals to exchange experiences and discuss the stability and development of democratic electoral processes. Distinguished international experts delivered presentations on electoral law, electoral procedures, and the role of innovative technologies.

During the two-day event, participants addressed key issues such as the regulations governing voting right and candidate registration, the modernization of voting and vote-counting procedures, and electoral dispute resolution. Additionally, discussions covered the expansion of the powers of electoral bodies and the training of electoral stakeholders.

The event offered an opportunity for the representatives of the NEO to share their experiences on the international stage and to gain insight into the latest global trends in electoral management.
