Notification of the political party

Political parties registered in Hungary that intend to run in the elections shall be notified after the date of the elections has been set but before notification of their first candidate

  • to the National Election Committee if the political party intends to put forward candidates or set up a list in several counties or both in the area of the capital and in the territory of some county,
  • to the regional election committee if the political party intends to put forward candidates only in one county, or within the area of the capital but in several parliamentary single mandate constituencies,
  • to the parliamentary single mandate constituency election committee if the political party intends to put forward candidates only in one parliamentary single mandate constituency.

Notification shall be made by completing the form P1 and delivering it personally or sending it by post. To the form, it is mandatory to attach the original copy of the extract issued by the court from the court register of social organisations, after the date of the elections has been set.

If the political party requests that its emblem should be indicated on the ballot-papers, it shall be attached also in electronic format with JPEG or TIF extension in grey shades, with at least 300 dpi resolution. We propose that you submit the emblem also in colour form because it will show better in television and Internet displays.

The registered representative of the political party or his representative authorised by him in writing will be also entitled to notify the political party or to make other legal statements on behalf of the political party (e.g., notification of candidates, lists, delegating into election committees, etc.)
