Voting abroad
If you stay abroad on the day of voting – either during the first or the second round – you can vote at the embassy or the general consulate of the Republic of Hungary. For this purpose, you can request the head of the local election office (i.e. the local clerk) as per your home address personally or by proxy to enter you on the roll of foreign representations till 19 March 2010. If you submit your request by proxy, the power has to be attached as well. You may submit your request in a registered letter so as it is received by the local election office by 19 March 2010.
If you change your mind after having been entered on the roll of foreign representations and wish to vote in Hungary, you can request the leader of the local election office as per your home address also till 19 March 2010 to cancel you from the roll of foreign representations and register you again in the polling station according to your domicile.
If you would like to change the location of your voting abroad after having been entered on the roll of foreign representations, you can request the leader of the local election office as per your home address also till 19 March 2010 to enter you on the roll of another foreign representation.
