X. Calling for local referendums
The body of representatives must make a decision on the initiative aimed at ordering a referendum within 30 days of the announcement (Article 139 of AEP). The referendum is to be set for a date within four (4) months of the ordering, the same time as the decision to order a referendum announced (Article 141 of AEP). The decree on ordering a referendum, and the date the referendum will be held must be published in the official gazette of the local government, or as it is locally customary (Article 142 of AEP).
